Carpigiani has moved to strengthen its shop-fit, display and design capabilities in the UK by becoming the exclusive distributor for IFI products in the UK.

IFI is an Italian manufacturer of artisan display equipment for the food and beverage industry, which has been trading for 55 years.

It is credited with launching the world’s first modular industrial bar counter in the 1970s and, more recently, the Bellevue and Panorama cabinets.

The agreement includes IFI’s complete range of ice cream display cases, as well as those designed for hot, cold and ambient foods. Specialist chocolate and frozen counters, as well as the bespoke products featured in IFI’s complete countering systems, are also covered by the deal.

Paul Ingram, managing director at Carpigiani UK, said: “We have worked with IFI for a number of years, supplying the very latest display solutions to countless retail and foodservice sites around the UK. This new exclusive distribution will allow us to add further value to our customers, supporting new and existing gelateria, dessert lounges and ice cream parlours as well as bars, restaurants, hotels and food sites with the very best in display and design.”

Following the agreement, the brand confirmed that New Concept will continue as the exclusive dealer of the IFI brand in Scotland, a status it has held for 30 years, as well as becoming an official dealer for Carpigiani’s equipment portfolio in Scotland with immediate effect.

Carpigiani’s existing business development manager for Scotland, Cameron Barrie, will continue to support customers and projects throughout the region directly, the company said.

New Concept’s fully equipped showroom will become the location for Carpigiani’s retail and foodservice Gelato University courses, training demonstrations, customer training and menu development sessions from 2018.

“Having serviced the Scotland region for IFI for over 30 years, we both felt it extremely important to continue this continuity,” commented Ingram. “We strongly believe that we can further add value and support for customers in Scotland by also opening the route to our Carpigiani portfolio to New Concept customers. We look forward to launching the Gelato University courses, menu development days and product demonstrations at the New Concept head office in Glasgow which will serve as our new development kitchen for the Scottish region.”
